Academy Super Etendard
Has open main wheel wells, separate arrestor hook, finer recessed panel lines, more refined fin join line, larger canopy, more accurate tail pipe, thicker wings. Tailplanes are too parallel in plan form. In general this tooling is more refined although there is a diameter mismatch between the upper and lower portions of the fuselage, resulting in a step at the rear portion and a substantial gap at the wing roots' upper surface. The fuselage was severely warped in our sample.
Heller Super Etendard
Has correct angled airbrakes, more pronounced nose downward angle, separate main wing flaps, thinner wings, accurate tailplanes, raised panel lines and overscale rivetting. Badly fitting canopy. The single cast moulding of the flying surfaces has resulted in 'lumpy' or uneven lower surfaces. Flying surfaces have greater sweepback than Aademy tooling.
