Kit Review
The Hasegawa tooling is the most accurate rendition of the Cobra and is recommended as a basis for all Cobra variants, substituting appropriate parts from other kits as required. The Fujimi AH-J has not been included here as it is very inaccurate in shape, its fuselage being too deep and 'blocky'. The dual-engine nacelles which distinguish this variant are best scavenged from the Italeri AH-1T kit, which can then be applied to the base Hasegawa fuselage. The Monogram tooling is an acceptable rendition of the AH-1G, but would still be bettered if the round-edged canopy from that kit was placed on the Hasegawa fuselage. |
